Local History and Genealogy Collection

The Local History and Genealogy collection includes resources not only from Dickson and surrounding counties, but from a much wider area.

Microfilm Resources include:
Most Dickson County records—marriage, probate, court, and deeds
Tennessee Death Certificates (None are available for 1913.)
            Dickson County only (1908-1925)
            All of Tennessee (1926-1955)
The Dickson Herald (all issues available)
Newspapers from Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Cheatham, & Stewart Counties
The Nashville Banner (1892-1896)
The Tennessean (1907-1934)
The (Clarksville) Leaf-Chronicle (1843-1910)
Census Records for Dickson and surrounding counties

How to Get Started in Genealogy Research

 

Ancestry.com is available for in-library use. Both Heritage Quest and the American Genealogy  Bank can be accessed remotely using your Dickson County library card number.
